WHen I was 13 and visiting Alaska my brother and I had a sow charge us up near Healy.  She got within about 10 yards and just stopped and turned into the brush.  REALLY SCARY.  It was right then I knew I would move up here, which is exactly what I did when I was 25.  It is a good thing I was not older and packing a weapon, I may have fired on her.  This I will always keep in teh back of my head if I ever get charged again when i have a weapon.  Most charges are bluffs.
