internet hunting partners
Posted by wildone on Dec 12 2005
I too learned the hard way. I book a trsanspoter outof Illiamna for a bou hunt and was looking for a partner. A guy from this site from Detroit was gonna go with me . He spoke to the bush pilot and everything and told them what flight he would be arriving on and all. I get 75 miles out in the cub and the tower tells me he's a no show. Thank God I had all my own gear and food. They asked what I wanted to do ? I told them I came 5000 mile to hunt caribou and in another 5 or so you are gonna put me on the ground. @ days of 75 mph wind and horizontal rain a brownie 60 yards outside my tipi and a dead caribou. It was the best trip I ever made alone and I learned a lot about myself and my abilities . Trust no strangers , believe in yourself and you can do it.It would be nice to have someone to go with but no one here by me is up for the amount of work involved so I am stuck doing it alone. I would like to do a moose hunt soon but alone I don't know about.
