I bought a new bag this summer after a lot of research. My top two brands came down to I.D. and Western Mountaineering.  I decided on the W.M., but spent more than 2 hundred.  To stay in that range I'd look into Frank's suggestion of the I.D. bag. I can't attest to it's performance, but respect the views of the climbing and hard core sheep hunter groups.
