I have not spent much time in the Brooks Range. I have only done the Haul Road on foot. However the weather can be just about anything. I think August into early September would be the best as far as winds go. However I have seen it blow like crazy for days on end. The other thing to consider is the fog. It can be pea soup thick within an hour of having bright blue skys. I would not want to try to land in it.
I have looked into ultralights before but have never found one that had the hauling capacity necessary for big game. Would you mind sharing what kind of rig you have?
Happy Landings,
Patrick
