[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Moose behaviour Posted by AkHunter45 on Dec 15 2005 Years ago i spotted a very nice bull about 2 miles away and watched him until he bedded in some timber. I picked a spot close to where he was a took off on the wheeler after him. I got to the spot and waited about 15 minutes when he stood up and started to proceed to go up the hill away from me. Leaving me no other choice, i snuck as quietly as i could up the hill behind me but it was very dry and i was a little noisier than i wanted to be. When i got to the top of the hill i could not find the bull, i suddenly felt the wind hit the back of my neck going directly towards the bull, i thought for sure he was gone. I continued on anyways hoping i would get lucky, not 30 yards from where i felt the wind on my neck there he stood, not 10 yards away staring right at me. He never flinched an ear or anything, he just stood there and i dropped him. Several times over the years i have had bulls wind me and pay no attention at all. I've also had them see and hear me and still not leave. I think every moose is different and acts according to the way it was raised by it's mother. I've also had a few bulls run for reasons known only to him. Moose will be moose!
