Have been hearing a little in the news on this one. One of the sponsers, Nick Jans, (the author of the Grizzly Maze, about Tim Treadwell) is here where I live gathering signatures for it. His group wants to limit who can participate in state run predator control plans. They want to force F&G to only use Dept. employees to do the hunting/control.
The current program allows Dept approved hunters to hunt with an airplane. Some areas are land and shoot. One area is open to airborn shooting. I think the program has been responsible for removing several hundred wolves over the last 2 years.
Has anyone read the iniative? Anyone signed it? Anyone want to sign it?
Do we need another iniative?
