Posted by Bigmnt on Dec 19 2005 To my knowledge, Wyoming is the only other state that requires a guide to hunt sheep, and that is only if you are hunting as a non-resident on designated wilderness. To say that Alaska gives away tags is a bit short sighted. The guide requirement in Alaska is very cost prohibitive to non-resident hunters. Right now, a non resident can go to Siberia and kill Sheep, bear, moose caribou etc. for less money and guarantees than he can do on many do it your selfer’s in Alaska. Not too mention Canada.
