Dave,
    I'm one of those servicemen you talk about.  My dad spent 33 years in the service so I've never lived anywhere longer than 2-3 years and have moved 11 times in my 21 years of service.  I don't have a state I can truly call home...and likely won't until I retire. You know what?  Alaska felt as close as any to a place where I felt like I fit in -- heck, most folks seemed to be from somewhere else.  I don't put in for my dividend because it just doesn't seem right, knowing I will likely retire elsewhere, but until I settle on some other place to call home and retire -- you're stuck with this serviceman.
