Thanks, Mark!

Mark,

Thanks for saying something that's been needing to be said for a while.  I'm all for a healthy discussion if the motive is to explore both sides and if it can be done respectfully.  In fact, we've had several of those lately and I think they were excellent.  I was especially impressed that it didn't become personal.  Lately my response to those looking for trouble has been silence.  I'm open to a good discussion, but if they just want a fight, they can fight with someone else, somewhere else.  I've gotten dragged into that stuff before, and have even (to my discredit) participated a time or three.  I'd like to say those days are over, and I hope I can keep my personal commitment to myself to help make this place a place folks can feel welcome.

Several folks have tried to draw me out with barbed comments here lately.  My response has been to approach some of them privately in an attempt to clear the air, and to hopefully come to some understanding.  Perhaps their real motives are revealed in the fact that not one of them has written back.  From that I conclude that there are folks interested mostly in stirring something up rather than in exchanging ideas about Alaska hunting.  There are places where such things are encouraged, but this is not one of them.  That said, I welcome the opportunity to discuss areas of disagreement as long as such discussions are intended to come to an understanding in a climate of mutual respect.

As to same-day airborne, I couldn't agree more.  I'm delighted to discuss it, but I'm not going to argue about it.

-Mike
