[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] rain gear Posted by Kid on Dec 28 2005 Ptarmigan, you may want to have a look at the archives. Some guys have very little use for anything "Gore-Tex". I too have had some gore-tex products in the past that did not work well in a downpour, they seemed to leak a lot at the seams in a heavy rain. These were US Fish and Wildlife Service issued raingear in the early 1990s. Some guys say just buy a set of Hansen's or Grudens and sweat inside them. I still am not sure if I want to risk $160 for a jacket/pants Dri-Plus SDS suit (gore-tex) from Cabela's when I can get a Hansen suit for less. I have heard good about Frogg Toggs but have not used them myself. I saw some advice in the archives where a goat hunter said he packs in 2 sets of rain gear. If you can stay dry, I know you can hunt better and safer. Good luck, Kid Previous: GoreTex Mr. Pid Dec 28 2005 Next: gore tex Mr. Pid Dec 28 2005 Message Thread:
