gore tex
Posted by Mr. Pid on Dec 28 2005
I currently own 8 jackets/coats that use GoreTex membranes for water resistance. None has ever leaked. Neither have previous coats I've used. The only leaks I ever got were in North Face pants after four hard years. The leaks were specific to worn areas, so I had no complaints.

GoreTex may not be able to vent all your moisture (can't keep up) when you're developing lots of heat and perspiration, but even when you get wet in such circumstances, you'll gradually dry. As long as you have good underlayers, you'll stay warm.

My favorite GoreTex raingear is Simms and Browning. Buy good gear and take good care of it, and you'll be happy with it.
