In my opinion that is just a term used and defined by a bunch of people who can agree on it. I saw an ad in Guns and Ammo Mag that was extolling "fair chase" hunting. It featured a photo of a guy with a huge caribou rack on his back, a scoped rifle on a sling and a spotting scope hanging around his neck. Who was that hunt fair to? The caribou? How is it fair...only because he obeyed an arbitrary set of rules. "Fair Chase" rules make hunting a game like football...you have to play by the rule book and then you are being fair.
