The problem I've seen with either the Noatak or the Kobuk is property rights access. They are checkerboarded with areas you can or can't hunt. I seem to remember it being rare to be able to hunt both sides of the river at the same time. As with any float, be sure to check on access before you plan on going. We flew with Jim Rude but I hear he sold everything and retired.
