[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Consider wind and rain Posted by B_M on Jan 03 2006 The number one (and two) considerations you'll want to make in picking a tent for above treeline are aerodynamics and rain repellancy. For water, make sure you have a tent with a bathtub floor (or at least a really good footprint) and a rainfly that goes all the way to the ground. Rainflys that don't stretch out beyond the tent are worthless in Alaska where the rain falls sideways. As for the wind, I much prefer a tent that is low to the ground over one I can comfortably sit up in.
