science or flawed opinions
Posted by Carnivore on Feb 04 2006
To me the biggest issue is the amount of false information he spread throughout the world.   Sure, he learned a lot and shared a lot of good science, but at the same time he spread a lot of personal beliefs I see as false.  If his agenda would have been to share  it with people in the know about bears and wildlife for them to make their own judgements, I would not be too concerned.  They could take what he had to say and form their own opinions based on many sources.  However, my opinion is that was not the case.  He shared is beliefs with people who had little to nothing else to draw from and at the same time tried to discredit years/decades/generations of scientific study.   Thus, his false opinions were taken as scientific truths.

He also shared false information as to the agenda of the hunting public.  The follow up to last night's show included comments about the state of mind of Alaskan hunters and their need to kill.  The comments were ludicrous.  I laughed out loud.  True it was not Treadwell speaking, but I have a hard time believing it did not reflect shared opinions with Treadwell and his organization.

I would have to RESPECTFULLY (not trying to ruffle anyone feathers) disagree with others who feel differently.
