I can see it now...the new rave
Posted by Jimmy Urban on Feb 08 2006
Floathunting out, skydive-hunting in.  I hope you are a good writer, b/c you have an opportunity to write the first book on Skydive-Hunting Alaska.

I think this would be an interesting way to hunt sheep/goat.  I have next to nil knowledge of skydiving, but I do have some thoughts/comments.

First, I think finding a pilot licensed to provide you services are limited to Anchorage/Wasilla.  Finding a pilot to drop you off from the Coldfoot/Circle surely won't happen and I doubt you'll find anyone in Fairbanks either, but if you were lucky enough there surely would be a hefty fee attached.

Second, what are the additional risks involved in landing on top of a mountain?  I'm spitballing here, but I'd assumed your risks would be equal to if not greater than that of a bush pilot landing on a ridge top.  Based on your signature block, I realize your a risk taker, but I was just wondering if you could comment on this for those less knowledgable.

Good luck!
