Mike, I've posted on this before and I humbly disagree.  While I do agree same day flying, scouting and targeting an animal is unethical, if you are on Kodiak and fly, land on salt water, set up camp and then hike up a mountian  and shoot a B/C Blacktail deer that you have never even seen due to cloud cover or what have you, its ethical and fair chase IMHO.  THERE WAS NO ADVANTAGE GAINED!
I've landed there and never even seen deer from the air, and yet shot them same day upon their appearance, (and my stalking, calling, and hunting skills). Does that make my hunt less ethical than your's because I did it before sundown?  
I think not!
