I would rather have the 5 mile corridor eliminated on the west side of the Dalton. I agree that ATV's can definately have a negative impact due to use, but I think that just shows how much demand there is for more hunting and recreational opportunities.

I agree w/Strahan (sp?) on a number of points though; 1) it wouldn't help to carve up the west side of the Dalton and then attempt to open ANWR and push for a gas line. 2) I think he's right, the longer  I'am here (since 1980) the less I want to run into you fellas hunting!

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having atv access. My first big game hunt was in 1984, I had a Nelchina tag (drawing) and I am still riding the '83 Big Red my dad bought for us! Recently (since 1990) I have been doing walk-in moose hunts and I enjoy not having to share "my spot" with others (there is a guide who hunts further back than I do, but we access the area differently and are not in each others way). Like many of you, I also access the Wrangells to sheep hunt via atv. I'd be the first one to jump off the Dalton with my Big Red if this passes the House too.

Tim
