Siwash
Posted by Rod in Wasilla on Feb 12 2006
Don't know if it counts as a Siwash or not, but here's my closest experience.

On a hike-in solo sheep hunt I didn't make it as high as I thought I would before nightfall set in. I was on some pretty steep slopes in very thick alders when I finally decided that traveling in the dark wasn't fun anymore. So, without anywhere to set my solo tent, and rain beginning to fall, I crawled into my sleeping bag and tried to wrap up in a tarp. It was small but I managed to get a little of it both over and under me. The slope was so steep that I couldn't keep from sliding downhill. I had to wedge my feet and knees in some of the trees and hope for the best. After eating a pemmican bar and drinking most of my remaining water, I fell asleep to the sound of rain and a light wind in the trees.

It may not have been my most pleasant camping experience, but it is certainly my most memorable.
