Siwash
Posted by Sollybug on Feb 13 2006
That’s a neat story as it puts things in perspective with all the gear we have now. I also thought Siwash involved spending a night without a bag or tarp which I have never done. I imagine it to be long and cold as everyone describes.  I have spent many nights with just visqueen and a sleeping bag which seems to be a vast improvement to nothing. To add a little humor to the situation: Twice I had to sleep outside the tent with just my sleeping bag when my hunting partner started up a chain saw (snoring). It was similar to Siwash  with respect to very little sleep and eyes swollen shut the next day.
