Snares
Posted by martentrapper on Feb 14 2006
Most every wolf I've caught, trapping, has been at a kill. If trapping season is still open around you, set the kill up with snares, but not too closely. If there is a regular trail they are using, that trail should be well hung with snares. You can either try and walk in their trail, or come in from the side to hang snares. Hang every wolf track going to or from the kill with snares.
Stories I've heard of successful wolf calling concern howling and trying to make a pack think there is another pack stealing their kill or territory. Seems like that may work around your kill. Need to howl like a wolf I suppose.
