Posted by Michael Strahan on Feb 14 2006 I forgot to mention that if you keep your fuel bottles in your sleeping bag (or in a cooler), they'll work a lot better in below freezing weather. You might consider bringing along some of those heat packets you use for hand warmers. Tape one to the bottle and it will make a big difference. Especially if you wrap the bottle in a sock or small towel to help insulate it. Those gas bottles are notoriously finicky in cold weather.
