Hmmmm...wounded bear in the alders?  Well now, that's the real question, itsn't it.  
I'd suggest you keep some clean underwear handy, and cross your fingers that the .375 hit him as hard as you hope it did!  I'd give him some time to expire, and after changing my shorts and getting something to eat, you'll have to head in after him.  Oh, try to not lose track of him, if possible.
