i have heard this advice before and glad to hear it worked for treetop, there are advantages and disadvantages to this, like everything i guess.
the good...bears not thinking about you yet...hopefully but you never know for sure.
the bad...he might run right back out in the open and you miss a follow up shot cause your in the alders.
the good, noise can help you locate him and a located bear takes alot of the pucker factor outa going into alders.
the bad,he's on an adrenaline rush, takes more to kill that if he sets up for a few and bleeds a bit.
play each situation differently, do your best and make sound judgment, not very man folks actually get hurt, i think more bears get lost than people get hurt by a long shot. just DON"T STOP SHOOTING!
