[ Return to Contents | Post a Reply | Post a new message ] Boiler room Posted by trapperbob on Feb 17 2006 My advice is boiler room. I've seen 40+ bears harvested and I have never seen a double lunged bear go far. Even if he makes it to the alders in ten minutes he is assuredly dead. Inside a 100yards is an excellent choice if possible. No animal escapes if shot through both its lungs. Back up shot goes to the shoulders to put them down. I took a bear this year on Kodiak that never took a step, the element of surprise makes a big difference in how quick they go down.
