Waders
Posted by Phil on Feb 21 2006
I'm still using waist-high neoprenes but only because I'm too cheap to change until they wear out:):)

My next pair will be breathable and I like the suggestion of wearing light bibs over them (although I haven't tried that yet).

You can be sure that you will be damp from perspiration in neoprenes. I use unscented Sure deodorant on my feet keep down the moisture. My feet sweat a lot so I will probably keep using deodorant when I finally get breathable waders.

You didn't ask but I wear stocking foot waders. That way I can adjust what I wear over them. For the most part, ankle high Extra Tuffs work great. For a lot of swampy walking, regular Extra Tuffs fit the bill. If the weather is really cold, insulated Extra Tuffs work well. Notice, all my suggestions include Extra Tuffs. Their traction & comfort are worthe the extra couple of bucks (imo).
