The best advice I could give you would be to take full advantage of Michaels offer and go shoot before you buy he could probably fix it so you could shoot a variety of calibers and that is the best way I know of to see what you can handle.You can master any caliber if you want to bad enough but it will take you some time to do it and if you don't reload it can get expensive for larger calibers.I agree with all these guys in that bigger is better for Alaska.....IF you can shoot it with good accuracy...IF not then a good hit with an 06 is much better than a bad hit with anything larger..Good luck and good hunting....Ronnie
