to everyone who posted on this subject. I (and I hope others) benefit from the great amount of knowledge and experience exhibited on this Forum.

I think it's safe to say that the "intellectual" concept of wanton waste is a recent development (say in the last 50 years). Before that I suspect much of the approach to game was very "utilitarian".

Any counter thoughts??
