Posted by Jeff L on Feb 23 2006 Too often the extractor in a Remington bolt face will give up the ghost for several reasons, a case gets stuck, a handload was too hot, etc. My brother shot a top 50 moose in Maine in fall of 02,but was only able to do so after placing the butt of his Mod 70 .300WSM on the ground and bringing his boot heel down hard on the bolt to remove a stuck case after the 1st shot. I think for utter dependability I too would look to the claw feed and the simple sear trigger of Winchester. Jeff L Previous: Rifle makes LaneW Feb 22 2006 Next: brands MIke P.
