I have owned several varmint and heavy varnint rifles in the past. Some standard calibers and some wildcat calibers of all different action makes but I bought and still have a Remington 700 varmint stainless fluted synthetic (mouthful huh) in .220 Swift. Thousands of rounds through it and it still shoots 1/2 inch groups at about 4000 fps with 50gr Ballistic Tips. The barrelled action sits in the original H.S. Precision stock and with the exception of having the barrel set back and headspaced 200 rounds ago it is factory original. This may be more info than you needed but with all the good, accurate brands out there I thought I'd put in my .02.
