Floorless is the way to go
Posted by Alex_Cena on Feb 23 2006
Floorless is the way to go.  No worries about walking in w/wet clothes, muddy boots, etc.  I use two sleeping pads.  One Thermarest self inflating (Ultralight) and a closed cell foam pad.  When the ground is wet, I just light the stove and zip the tent up real tight.  45 minutes later the floor is dry enough to sleep on.  In the morning, I do not crawl out of my bag until the stove is lit and the condensation from the walls are gone.  I have a moisture barrier for it but just too lazy to put it on.

I've taken a 6-man Kifaru tipi on two float hunts up in Alaska the last two years.  It's a great tent.  However, it takes a lot of stakes.  14 on the 6-man.

I hope that helps.

Cheers,
Alex
