Alaska Hunting Stories
Posted by .338 mag. on Feb 24 2006
LeNora Conkle has written some books about her husband Bud Conkle's guiding years in Alaska and when they first came here. They are good books. They lived down the road from my parents who were living on the Slana River for many years. Bud and LeNora were friends of the old time guide, outfitter, freight hauler, dog musher and you name it Harry Boyden. Trail of the Eagle, Hunting The Way It Was In Our Changing Alaska and a couple of others were authored or co-authored by her. She must be close to 90 now. She has lived the Alaskan life in a big way.
