While the guide may give you some information, it is YOUR responsibility to know the hunting regulations in the area or state in which you are hunting.

It may be your money, but you are not in control.  The guide is!  He is the one with the license and the experience in the area you are hunting. The client has the responsibiliy to listen to the guide and heed his advise. True that sometimes what the guide may decide may be wrong but his experience is invaluable.

If he does not follow the regulations for guiding and game laws he could loose his license (livelyhood), his plane or boat and pay heavy fines.
