C'mon Mike---you keep contradicting yourself
Posted by bushrat on Mar 03 2006
Mike,

Politics might be a good field to go into <grin>. You pushed one idea one day and then turned around and pushed the exact opposite the next. This all started when you said that people like me who live outside an Advisory Committee's (AC)jurisdiction really shouldn't question proposals about wolf and bear control, and that we should "respect" the proposals coming out of local ACs because they know best what's happening in their own areas. Yet now you say that your own Advisory Committee really doesn't know best, that what it's really about (in this instance) when locals who sit on your Advisory Committee vote on an issue is jealousy over non-locals hunting in their area!

"...locals in a unit that has less animals than in the past are jealous when non locals come into their region to hunt. The fact that this proposal was brought forth by my AC is NOT an indication that moose hunting in this sub unit is poor." ---Martentrapper

So one day ACs know best, and the next they don't? C'mon! No one outside an ACs jurisdiction should question their proposals (or their motives), but well, hang on...I think you're sorta saying that in this one instance your own AC pushed a proposal based only on jealousy and not facts. And the majority went for it. It sounds like you're a minority opinion in your own AC on this one. So who's right? You, or the majority of the locals on the same committee? Who do we believe? You've told us to go with what the AC's say, that they know best. And now you're saying the opposite. I guess I'll just continue to question some proposals put forth by local ACs even though I don't live within their jurisdiction. I'll wonder if they are based on real numbers and facts or just local opinion and feelings.

Mark
