Character Issue
Posted by Jake_65_65 on Mar 05 2006
Hey Mike,
My intention was in no way to attack someone's character, and if I came off that it was truly not my intent.  I made the mistake by saying "wrong" information.  What I really meant was that what is appropriate advice for some might not be for others.  And I think most on here realize that, but much like what AlaskaCub said a lot of us one here tend to easily enage in arguments about our own opinions.  This is where I tend to get frustrated.  I think arguments or debates are a great way to get information out, but I think a lot of us could go to greater lengths to explain why we have the opinions and beliefs we do.  You did a great job of this in the above post and AlaskaCub did also in his intial post.  For the younger and inexperinced guys that read these forums these are the posts that really help us.  The types of posts that don't help us are the ones where people simply say that a .270 is not enough for a Grizzly. I do stand by what I said in my first post, but thought I should clarify that I was not attacking anyone's character.  And for what its worth all the research and information gathering that I have been able to do have lead me to the .375 H&H as the best cartridge for big game hunting in Alaska and I even have a .416 Rem Mag that my dad left me when he moved to the lower 48.  Anyways sorry for the misunderstanding guys.
