Even a hunt that starts from the road can turn into a remote hunt situation. If you are lost and/or hurt on a hunt it does not matter how far you are from any road, in Alaska you still have a good chance to die!
The most important thing is to stay put if you are lost. If you keep moving it makes it harder to be found.

Make some type of shelter.

Make some type of signal.

You can go three days without water, over a week without food. How long can the body stand the elements? Hence shelter is very important.
