Alaska gets by far the most out of the federal government in the way of $ per person than any other state. Most of that money goes to the big population centers (where the votes are) as highway money and military bases and other large projects. Since they aren't sending much of that money out to the bush, it only seems fair that they give us something like local hunting rights. Heck, that doesn't cost the feds anything other than management costs.
