to put it would be to say that oil drilling and production has not had a negative impact on Caribou around Prudhoe Bay as was claimed prior to drilling.  For that matter it seems to not have had a negative impact on the waterfowl there either.

One possible positive aspect would be the microsope that wildlife populations would be put under, given the high interest (both for and against) in ANWR.  If any negative impacts were noticed, they would most certainly be highlighted in the national media.  But based on what we know from Prudhoe Bay, it seems to not have hurt the wildlfe.
