Didn't mean to offend you by the "gentlemen" comment... if it helps, I wasn't referring to you.

I saw Rotting Moose's comment as a tongue-in-cheek jab, actually.  Why... did you know that the construction of the Denali Highway and the subsequent network of ATV trails has resulted in an increase in the grizzly population in Unit 13?  It's true.  Before the highway was built, numbers were down.  Now they're up.  Who woulda guessed it?  Betcha didn't know that the reconstruction of the McGrath airport has resulted in an increase in the number of bears and wolves in the area, but it's true.  The numbers don't lie.  Also, since the numbers of folks hunting the Western Arctic Herd out of Kotzebue has risen in the last few years, the caribou population has increased!  Must be sorta like pruning a fruit tree.  Cut a few branches and the thing goes wild!  In fact, perhaps we're looking at the wrong cause here... I think it's this forum!  Predator numbers are UP in many GMUs since this hunting forum was launched... maybe THAT's why!  Now, how could a guy argue with logic like that?

My thread is ruined!  Cruel world!
