forums like this one take away from the challenge of finding and learning about hunting on your own.
it used to be that to find out about a local area you found a mentor in person...convinced them you were "worthy" and hoped they would take you with them, or despense enough snippets of information that you would have an idea about hjust how or where to start your adventure.
now it is all about amassing info 3rd hand, reading books and maps and perusing forums with blind questions aimed at people you don't know.
sure, in a way it is the same...it all falls under "planning"....but the fact that every tip dispensed on the forum makes it easier not just for the person who asked the question, but also for 3000 other people that just read the answer.
niether good nor bad, the forums have certainly changed some hunters approach to the outdoors...

sure has created a new class of experts, too. where the more you say the more you know seems to eventually become an accepted truism.
