Anytime you cull any type of overgrowth in any population dynamic, be it weed trim on your sidewalk or wolves, any gap in the population will be quickly filled...Nature abhors a vaccum...(just thinking of a vaccum sales man walking down a forrest path in the Gary Larson classic). History proved this to, with the bubonic plauge, that killed nearly one third of the European poplutaion, only for it to rebound in record numbers...I said this would happen & it is, to so many people didn't want to listen.
