This is a tough issue.  I have always been for predator control, but now after reading Mark's insight and issues he has pointed out, I am kind of stuck in the middle.  I have no problem "hunting" for a moose.  I am more than willing to put in my time to find an animal.  My concern now is if we do get the moose population up, how many more hunters am I going to see in the field and how many more of them are going to be "trashing" the land?  That is my concern.  I do wish we could have more moose around along with that hopefully will come more wolves and bears in the end, but the human aspect and how they affect the resource is what is concerning me now.  I have seen what the 40 mile country has turned into.  Without the controlled use areas up there, there wouldn't be a whole lot of moose left.  I also see where us humans have caused some serious environmental damage out there.  I am not against atv's (I own them and love them), but somewhere and sometime, we hunters need to use some common sense and keep those atv's on certain trails and out of the bogs where the damage is easily seen and seem's to cause more damage to to erosion, melting of permafrost, etc.    I guess I have lost faith in many of my fellow hunters when it comes to certain ethics and just because I believe in somethings doesn't make me right or a God on that area or subject, so I do realize that others do what they choose is right.

There is no easy answer here as more animals ='s more hunters in the field, which ='s more impact, which ='s more damage.  Then what?   Not sure where to go from here.   I support predator control, but I surely wonder about the consequences further down the road.
