.44 or .480 ?

I am about to purchase a Ruger Red Hawk, but I don’t know which Caliber to get. I am stuck on the .44 mag and the .480. I have done my home work on both and just can’t come to a conclusion. I have read many articles about the .480 (more power less recoil) I find this hard to believe. I will be using this gun for hunting/back-up protection. So if you own or have ever owned a .480, please give me some feedback likes dislike’s any information would be helpful. Thanks
