tent....
Posted by fullkurl on Mar 11 2006
Steve are you in Fairbanks? I'd set up a Bibler and let you look at its features.
For a do-it-all superlight structure with limited frills they are the best out there. I used one for sheep and goat for the last six years.  There is a reason mountaineers use them. They are light and bombproof.
No offence, but many of the tents that guys ask about on this forum would never pass muster. Eureka and North Face, although nice hikers/family tents etc., aren't lightweight/compactable sheep hunting tents by any means. Hilleberg makes a nice tent, but who wants to mess with setting up a fly when its pouring on you?? More guy-outs, flapping and fuss-Or deal with the drafty cold in a fly-style tent?
Just FYI, The Mountain Hardware EV2 (also single wall) is the ultimate if you have the $500 (ebay)I could set one up to show you it too, you'd love it.
Best, Frank
