I have to say that defining reach and 1500 meter kills are both a long, long way out there and could have very, very different meanings/results.

That said 1500 meter shots (if you are talking game animals) should not responsibly be taken.  I will also add that a trained sniper soldering on in the Sand Box is a whole different application.  Statistics would likely show that a spotter and sniper team are more prone to making successive kills or hits at 1500 meters if their sights happened to be set at that distance routinely in comparable scenarios and showing equivalent distance shots day after day or night after night.

After about 300 meters plus in the field there are so many variables that must fall into play for the mainstream of sportsmen.  Not so much some of the guns and optics, but more the marksmen and the set of considerations that must not only be academic yet also applied.
