Most people, including myself, are well aware of the practicality of all the ballistic "theories", etc.  That does not mean they need to be ignored.  There is a use for them, however limited.  The bottom line is you don't want to hunt brown bears with a .222, and a 50 BMG is overkill.  That does not mean we can't discuss some of the theories and ask how it relates to other peoples practical experience.  That is what I was trying to do, get practical experience from other people with experience hunting brown bears.  Thanks for the input everybody.  I will let you know how it goes.
