Bear sight in
Posted by .338 mag. on Mar 15 2006
I use a 200 yd. zero on my 30-06 and .338. If I do my part the bullet lands very close to where the cross hairs are placed. When I have the accuracy and velocity I want with a handload I learn the trajectory. That 200 yd. zero has put about 40 gut piles on the ground in Alaska for my family and I. It makes point and shoot alot easier for us. Only 4 of these critters were over 300 yds. and over half were under a hundred. For a spring bear hunt I would want that 200 yd. zero. If I was on a salmon stream in the fall I would grab my old .375 Mod.70, use a 100 yd. zero and point and shoot. Hope you get a world record Brown Bear !!!
