We have been making our own dried food for years.  Make what you normally eat, i.e. lasagna, stroganof etc and then dry it in a drying oven.  We then put it into vaccume seal pouches and freeze them.  When you get to your hunting area just add water and simmer.  Tastes much better the MRE's or Mountain House.  Jim
