338RUM vs. 375H&H
Posted by niceguy0777 on Mar 16 2006
Hello!

First off i would like to thank all the folks that helped me out on the last post.

Well i have a new one here. I can't decied on getting the 338RUM or the 375 H&H...... I know a lot of people out there are gonna say "The 375 will drop anything!"  But i was looking for a rifle that is versatile for moose, caribou, and brown bear. I was leaning towards the 338RUM because of its excellent velocity and the amount of force it puts out. But i was wondering if the 338RUM is strong enough to take down a full grown kodiak brown???

Also i was wondering which hunting rounds would be good for bringing down big animals. I know that swift a-frame makes a 275 grain in the 338RUM caliber. And that the Woodleigh makes a 300 grain soft tip for the 338RUM. I was wondering has anyone used a Woodleigh???

Oh, and would it make a big difference if i used a 210 grain bullet from a 300 grain bullter for the 338RUM??? Would the heavier grain bullet have more penetration and killing power???

Well guys, thanks for the help in advance!!!!
