Use 270grn Barnes, Nosler, A-frames on the big,bad,burley stuff and I think you can do it on a 24" barrel. I believe you can buy these bullet weights in factory loads also. Screaming velocity really makes a mess of things if you eat what you shoot and really tears a bullet apart,even tough bullets. The .338RUM has a 26' barrel and isn't much different in velocity with the same bullet weights. Ammo harder to find.
